“Tangible culture. Patient-centered care. A vision for the future. These are just some of the incredible qualities you will encounter if you decide to intern with JPS Health Network. My internship experience exceeded my expectations at every turn. From unparalleled access to the entire Executive Leadership team to 75+ one-on-one meetings with interdepartmental change agents to clinical shadowing directly with front line staff, I felt welcomed and supported across all facets of the health system. Work assignments were made meaningful. My projects were primarily focused within the Community Health umbrella, as JPS commands 40+ outpatient primary and specialty health centers including 19 school-based clinics. But I was also privileged to gain meaningful exposure across many other departments, including an inside look into Tarrant County’s only Level I Trauma Center and only Psychiatric Emergency Center. Everywhere I went, I witnessed unwavering commitment to the patient. JPS has reaffirmed my motivations for being in healthcare and prepared me to develop into an even better servant leader.”

“Being a part of the JPS team was a phenomenal experience! From the warm and welcoming culture to the unique experiences of working for a county hospital, the JPS administrative internship helped me grow, learn, and look forward to my future career as a healthcare leader.
I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in numerous areas including Patient Experience, Correctional Health, Strategy, and the Access Resource Center. The executive team and former interns/fellows supported me throughout the whole experience and provided mentorship that set me up for success. The JPS culture is truly something special and I am honored to have had the chance to assist in delivering excellent care to the citizens of Tarrant County.”

“The JPS Healthcare Administrative Internship was a unique opportunity to experience the patient-centric culture that’s dedicated to serving the Tarrant County community. As a teaching hospital with a complex patient population, JPS has endless opportunities to learn and grow as a healthcare professional. During my summer I worked on challenging projects within women’s health, internal medicine, and oncology and infusion that supported the mission of the organization. Coming from a non-clinical background, I appreciated the exposure to clinicians in the Level 1 trauma center, catheterization lab, and operating room. At JPS, the values of trust, mutual respect, excellence, integrity, accountability, and teamwork are lived out every day. I’m honored to have been selected to contribute to the mission of this health system. ”

“I cannot sing enough praises about JPS and its astounding employees. Similarly, my internship experience was something that I could’ve only dreamed of. There was unrestricted access to the executive team, a bounty of project opportunities to flex your problem-solving skills across an array of functional areas, and a powerful culture that fosters a warm and welcoming environment. The administrative internship has given me a wealth of new knowledge about hospital systems and a whole new family of lifelong friends.
Ultimately, JPS allowed me to grow as a leader and given me a new memory for the “Why” we choose to work in healthcare.”
