Description: The Emergency Medical Technician II performs various technical duties and tasks which include assisting with direct and indirect treatment and care of patients. Typical Duties:
Performs EKGs, venipuncture, IV skills, and bedside testing.
Provides emergency first aid treatment.
Responds to medical emergencies.
Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
Notifies nurse of abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
Performs clerical functions.
Accesses and navigates through Epic.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
1 plus years of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Level 1 EKG Competency (subsequent to hire).
