Description: The Pharmacy Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing requests and generating effective solutions through the implementation of projects involving information systems as assigned. Responsible for the design, development, documentation, implementation and support of clinical systems in response to hospital information system needs. Typical Duties:

  1. Analyzes requests for support that require system changes and recommends appropriate solutions in accordance with the strategic plan.
  2. Assists with design, development and implementation of new system features and capabilities.
  3. Documents application and project design for ongoing support.
  4. Documents all facets of projects to include design and operational procedures.
  5. Assures that all system changes are properly tested, documented and following change management procedures prior to submitting to Manager for review.
  6. Communicates effectively in order to provide optimal support of all department’s information system needs, to promote information services, and to promote a professional climate throughout the hospital.
  7. Provides appropriate support for assigned clinical, financial, administrative applications and systems.
  8. Coordinates projects with customers, PMO, vendors and Information Technology staff to ensure effective integration.
  9. Collaborates with customer to identify needs, analyses, organizes, plans, implements and tests software changes and updates.
  10. Maintains security framework for system.
  11. Maintains databases, data dictionary and other technical support requirements.
  12. Utilizes clinical knowledge to ensure safety in the implementation and use of pharmacy systems.
  13. Reviews workflow and processes to provide clinical and technical advice to pharmacies to improve quality and fiscal responsibility.
  14. Represents customers information services needs at District meetings involving customers’ electronic system.
  15. Participates in development and performance improvement activities.
  16. Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • 3 plus years of experience as an inpatient or retail Pharmacist and 3 plus years of IS support.
  • 3 plus years of experience in requirements analysis and hardware/software integration in applications systems design is required.
  • Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 3 plus years of working knowledge and experience with the hospital’s application software is preferred.
  • Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • Registered Pharmacy license in the State of Texas.
